Salaam alaykum to everybody here!
I am muslimah from Finland and working with information technology (nice expression for simple computer worker?).
I have made work for Palestine several years and many times people in other forums or any other places have told me that they would like to support Palestine but they donأ‚آ´t know what to do in practice. By this site for example are some ideas what I have tried to tell to others, like:
1. Write letters everyday. If you have access to e-mail, you can send
multiple newspapers the same letter and save time. The pro-Palestine voice
needs to be heard and believe me; it makes a big difference to send just one
letter a day expressing your thoughts about the media's role or an article
that was recently published in the newspaper.
2. Boycott ALL Israeli products. Make sure that you read every label of every product you buy. Also, boycott all American made products or services whose companies support the economy of Israel.
3. Volunteer for Palestine no matter where you live. Volunteer your time to different groups in your area.
4. Donate money to Palestine. If you can not afford it, sell cookies and send the profit to a charitable organization. Palestine needs our support
now more than ever and we can not let her down.
5. Learn the history of Palestine inside and out. Make sure there is no
doubt in your mind about the truth so that you can respond to any discussion taking place.
6. Join rallies in support of Palestine. Make signs, express yourself.
7. Let everyone know that Arabs are Semites too! We are not being anti-Semitic but pro-justice.
8. Explain to people the difference between the American fight against
terror and what the Israeli government is doing to the original inhabitants of Palestine. It is not the same fight and never will be as we all know
Israel is an occupying force.
9. Sign every petition that comes your way that you agree with. The
internet has paved the road for our voices to be heard. Don't be afraid to
join the fight and list your name for the fight for a free Palestine.

21,915 Black Balloons Over Jerusalem
To celebrate 60 years of independence, Israel is planning a large-scale birthday bash with events taking place in many different countries around the world. In Jerusalem, a 3-day conference, under the title "Facing Tomorrow" is planned from May 13 – 15, to which many world leaders, such as U.S. President Bush, and French President Sarkozy, and celebrities such as Barbara Streisand and Steven Spielberg have been invited and plan to attend.
(BTW ... many canceled - Barbara Streisand was among them! As a known supporter of Israeli causes in previous years, her cancellation was the most notable.)
It is wrong to celebrate and we need to do something BIG to make the world, and those gathered to celebrate Israel, see and hear us. We* have this idea and we need your help to make it happen! On May 15, we will launch 21,915 (365 days x 60 years) black balloons over the skies of Jerusalem. We aim to turn the skies over Israel’s celebrations black to let people know that there is another side of the story, a side of heartache, suffering and dispossession. At the same time, each balloon will carry a letter from a Palestinian child expressing his/her hope for the future, to let the world know that we believe in and dream of justice.
Other things that you can do:
1 - On May 15, we are asking everyone, wherever he or she is, to wear black. PLEASE WEAR BLACK!
2 -WRITE LETTERS, or help collect letters from Palestinian children. You can email us the letters and we will print them out and attach to the balloons that we will launch;
3 - If you are in Palestine, volunteer to help us inflate and LAUNCH the balloons on May 15;
Wherever you are, consider doing an action in SOLIDARITY with our action (in addition to whatever else you may be planning). For example, you can launch your own balloons, fly black kites, march with black banners, etc.
4 - To donate to the cost of the balloons.

Salaam alaykum sisters and brothers;
As my principles what we need are:
1. More activism to get help for our oppressed sisters and brothers in many Islamic countries under occupation; more activism about human rights issues; more groups for these issues, more articles. More new and fresh ideas how to change this world.
2. More concern about environmental issues; like global warming, pollution... Allah (swt) has created the perfect world for us and we have no right to let it destroyed only for greed of some people.
3. More tolerance to our Islamic Umma. We should every times remember our duties for our sisters and brothers and also our duty to tell non-muslims about Islam and try our best to show them too what is right path. "United we stand, devided we fall". Special remember our duty for Al-Aqsa.
This is my campaing: these are very big and serious matters all of them - and they touch all of us - no matter where we are living.
You might think this forum is only a virtual world and this is election for fun - but it is not. If I will get even one person to think those matters and act for them, I have already won - maybe not the title of president but one more chance for better world!
