I am a Sunni Muslim, I follow the Hanafi School of Orthodoxy (madhhab) and I am an initiate (murid) of Sheykh Abdul-Kerim al-Kibrisi, Deputy to Sheykh Maulana Nazim al-Hakkani Grand Sheykh of the Osmanli Naks-i’bendi Hakkani Sufi Association. My family’s origin and ethnic heritage is that of the Fula people, the Fulani of the Sahel (the Wodaabe Clan). I was born and raised in America therefore I am an American Ottoman.
