STARTING A NEW CHAPTER OF MY LIFE........
OMG!!!! I"m going to be a Grandma!!!!!
A California Native :) currently living on the east coast..... Been on the this side of the country for about 14 years now......
I am a revert to islam (about 4 years) My life has changed so much (for the better) since I took shahada. Don't get me wrong I am not perfect and still struggle with temptaion and this world everyday just like everyone else. I am a 36 year old single mom of 4 beautiful children My son is 19 the twins (girls) are 17 and my baby girl is 12. I really don't like talking about myself.......Everytime I have to do something like this it just reminds me of how boring I really am...LOL...... I have been a mommy since I was 16 (Life was wild b4 Islam)...... But isn't it said that everything that happens is allowed by Alla(swt)??????? And Allah will never give us a situation we can't handle...... And from our life situations we should learn something from it...... I just haven't figured out what lessen I am to learn from it all....... I'm not big on refering to hadith or the sunnah or scholars...... I am one of those folks who believe the Quran is a sufficiant guide and when we add all that other stuff how does it makes being muslim any different from beign christian or any other religon for that matter...... I am sure there is way more people out there who would disagree with me rather than agree with me....... We are all intitled to our opinions :) I was married once b4 Islam..... I work alot (am currently working 2 jobs) I don't do a lot of hanging out but I do enjoy going to poetry readings and an occassional movie...... I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, having picnics and Barbeques going to the beach (I can't swim) but I love to be close to the water..... I am a pretty simple person....Not in to material things.......
I've decided to go back to school....... Spring 2009 I will going to school to become A registered Nurse specializing in labor and delivery and prehaps one day becoming a midwife..... This is something I have always wanted to do......... Really there is no reason to keep putting it off......

I like hanging out with family and friends, Meeting knew people. I like to cook and bake and I like to try knew foods. I like people who are honest and real, people who are themselves from the very first moment you meet them. I love Rocky Road Ice cream but have not been able to have it since I took shahada because of the marshmallows :( So I am searching for a Halal version of rocky road ice cream.....LOL......
I love animated movies....... Shrek is my all time FAV........ I like poetry but can't write......... I would like to learn to speak arabic and take art classes.....

I just joined this website today. Been just looking around. I didnt realize there are many of the muslim faith in the United States. Thinking of islam but still so many questions.
