When loosing a child, who do we turn to?
And Allah subhanna wa tallah says: “There is no power and no strength except with Him” Then He promise again: “… Allah puts no burden on any person beyond what He has given him. Allah will grant after hardship, ease.”* From Surah Al-Inshirah, ayahs, 6-8; Allah subhanna wa tallah promise us: “Verily with hardship comes ease. So when you finish from your occupation then stand up for Allah’s worships (prayer). And to Allah alone turn all your intentions and hopes and your invocations.”*
I lost my son Abdul Hakim, on February 26th, 2008. Of a violent death. My son was a great student, good son and a great Muslim young man. He had learn a lot of Surahs and he was still learning more. The last surah he learned was al-Bayyinah, he prayed five times a day. He was love by the community and his teachers. He work from the time he was 12 years old and he was the best son, brother and friend anyone could have. He was also an artist.
I got the news sudden, and in a shocking way. Over a phone call to my oldest son, meanwhile he was visiting me with his family that weekend. Every one was crying and screaming and gong insane. I stood up and told everyone to be quite, stop the crying and get focus. I made many phone calls, actually I was not looking for sympathy, and I wanted to assure myself that it was not a dream or a lie. And then I understood the need to be strong and calm. I was numb, detach and I could not hear a word anyone was telling me. And then I remember with hardship comes ease, and from Allah we come and to Allah is our return. Mashallah, does words kept me going, and when I felt the world was caving up on me, Allah’s words comforted me one more time. I comfort everyone, and I kept telling them I don’t want tears, Allah will take care of everything. I know those words were more comfort to me than anyone else around me.
Allah subhanna wa tallah, has given us many promises. One after the other, when you read the Qur’an if nothing else you can learn that Allah subhnna wa tallah is a Merciful Lord. All His promises are kept. The need to trust something or somebody else is futile. Neither men, nor women can keep their promises to one another. We will try and strive to keep our promises the best way we can, basically always falling short, not by our own avail but just by the fact that we are humans and we are not perfect. Allah subhanna wa tallah is perfect in every since of the word and every single promise by Him will be kept. If He says that we will find ease after hardship, He will ease our pain. If we don’t have food, He promises us that we will be fed. Everything He promises us is delivered to us. We are the ungrateful ones that don’t trust and always fall short of grace in front of Allah subhnna wa tallah
I am a Muslimah strong and passionate about my religion. I study and teach others the simple teachings of Islam. I am not a scholar neither try to be better than the next. I just follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet. I am grateful to have learned some good things and some things which help ease my pain in time of distress. I have learn not to questions Allah’s Qadar because I know that Allah subhnna wa tallah is taking care of me, I will be at ease. Inshallah, my good deeds outweigh my bad ones in the hope of seen my son again. Again, it is a promise of Allah subhnna wa tallah. With time I know I will need closer in this matter. Regardless, how I feel and how others might feel about my way of grieving, I only can say that: “Allahu Akbar.”
