wa 'alaykumus-salaam wa rahmatullaah I recieved your message just a little while ago, and I must say that, I have never heard such a question being asked before, laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah. Is there a scholar, or an Imaam where this family lives? Perhaps there is someone in the community that is admired and respected by the sister's husband (who is having these deviant thoughts). This is a serious situation, and it must be addressed a.s.a.p. If someone is having doubts about islaam, or is considering apostating from Islaam, then we fear for such a person. We fear for him because one of the conditions of the validity of the shahaadah is certainty in what you are uttering, and doubt has no place in that. Such a person should be spoken to with wisdom, and one must try his (or her best) to address those shubuhaat (doubts) that are with him. This should be done by someone who has some knowledge, and perhaps some position in the community, and Allaah knows best.
