A hadith shared with me, To share with you

Abu Daawood is Sulaymaan bin Al Ash'ath As-Sijistaanee (rahimahullaah), the author of the book of As Sunnan. In his biography, it mentioned that when a garment was made for him, he would make one of his sleeves wider so that he can carry his books in it.


Umm 'Abdillaah al Waadi-iyyah (hafithahallaah) said: May Allaah have mercy upon our scholars.  All they thought about was achieving beneficial knowledge.  This is why Allaah raised them high and blessed them with the bounty of understanding the deen of Allaah which is a sign that the person has goodness with him as it is recorded in the two Saheehs in the hadeeth of Mu'awiyyah ( radhiyallaahu 'anhu). 


"I heard Allaah's Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) saying,


 "If Allaah wants good for a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. "
