Yes, Angels are a very important aspect of life for anyone. They are with us daily. We understand as Muslims that when we give salams (greetings of Peace) at the end of prayers, to our right and to our left, we are greeting the angels that are with us. The angels play important roles in our lives and even in the grave, as it will be they who question us in the grave. An Angel brought the message of Allah to Muhammad and we also know an Angel brought the announcement of the coming birth of Prophet Isa (Jesus) to his mother, Maryam. It is for this reason we do not have images in our religion, as angels do not enter were there are images. When we enter an "empty" room we will greet the angels there with Salaams. They are far more "interactive" with us in our psychological sense than they are with Christians. We do not make images of them, but understand they play various roles in Creation. So yes, I would encourage you to open your Quran this month, each day & read about the angels. You may not realize it is Ramadan (an Islamic calendar month) and during this time Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. When I say "Fast" I mean NO Water or liquids and NO food or gum or any of the tricks used by some during "fasting". It is another very significant thing you might look up and study during this holy month. It is a month of fasting, forgiveness & mercy.

Salaam ...As-Salaamu 'Alaykum...Thanks, I do believe the ONENESS of GOD.... Angels ? Really? That is emphasided in Islam? I guess I need to study more. I did not realize this. I do admit in the last year I have not put enough into the study. It seems I have no sense of direction. Therefore I am scattered in many directions searching for inforamtion. Yes I do have a Quran. I would still appreciate any you can offer to learn about Islam. Eid Mubarak.

Salaam & Greetings of PEace

Glad to have you here on the forum. And happy to link was friends. The best thing to do is study the Quran iteself. You will find people who are really into studying the lives of the companions of the prophet or taking and almost worshipping the actions of our Beloved Prophet. But that isn't what makes one a Muslim. The most important thing is to Believe in the ONENESS of GOD. Believe in the angels and to believe in the Prophets sent by Allah, with Muhammad being the final Messenger. We as Muslims must guard against "cult" worship of any human being, including the Prophet. We should only submit to Allah and only worship Allah.

Allah, is best translated into English as the term "God" without gender significance. Unlike in English were the word is God or Goddess. (thus gendered). Allah is neither.

So how long have you been studying Islam? God willing, you have obtained a Quran. If not let me know & I will work to get one for you. Insha allah.

salaam alaikum & Greetings of Peace,  I just wanted to come by & give my salaams. Insha Allah, when you have time you will come by & check out my page as well. Would love to get feedback.  I am hoping you will consider allowing me the honor of being a net-friend as I would love to chat more with you regarding the faith & all within the framework of our culture. I know many times Islam gets placed in a context of "foreign" but there are many in the US who practice Islam right here in the US & my husband & I are a couple of those "American Muslims". So if you will permit me to, I'd love to keep in touch. You can also check out my other page on muslimspace at www.muslimspace.com/Anisah_of_So_Dakota and my husband's profile at www.muslimspace.com/Islamic_Artist

Salaam, Anisah of SOuth Dakota
