There is 5 types of bid^ah in the rulings of fiqh-

Notice I said blameworthy bida^ah to be specific because every type of bid^ah is not a bad bid^ah.

The verses of Qur^an and the fact that it wasn't done in the seerah are enough proof for those whom ALLAH gave understanding to.

May ALLAH give us tawfiq to obey Him and love the sunnah of His prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa  sallam more than anything else regardless of national ,ethnic, social, or family attachments.Amin.

Many of those commenting below havent read the whole blog. It says that if the intention is to enjoin good and forbid evil then election can b ok.
well this is a controversial topic. But i think voting in american elections is the lesser evil cuz if u dont some bad person may win. And given the fact that america influences almost all the other countries, it wud b harmful 4 muslims if some bigot got elected.

omg where in the sunnah/quran did it show that the Prophet (pbuh) used THE INTERNET OR COMPUTERS TO COMMUNICATE during their times. for surely these are man made things, and kafr! i only read like the first few sentences. thats  a stupid argument to make to make ones point.
