One Ummah, One Allah

bismillah

Allah has given us a number of very clear, beautiful rules in His Quran as to how we are to behave with one another, what counts in our brothers and sisters, and what counts in us. these ayat are powerful reminders, and clear proofs against the Shaytan who encourages unkindness, selfishness, distain, etc.

i remember a video from Baba Ali that reminded us that reason Shaytan is al-rajim is because of his arrogance towards Adam, refusing to respect and honor one who Allah made, thinking himself better. so insha'allah may we keep these ayat in mind, and consider them deeply, then live them.

o you who believe! let not some men among you laugh at others: it may be that those who they laugh at are better than they: nor let some women laugh at others: for it may be that those who they laugh at are better than they: nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, after he has believed: and those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong. 49:11

o mankind! We created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. and Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted with all things. 49: 13

o you who have attained to faith! be ever faithful in your devotion to Allah, bearing witness to the truth in all equity; and never let hatred of any-one lead you deviate from justice. be just: this is closest to piety. and remain conscious of Allah: verily, Allah is aware of all that you do. 5:8

send not away those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His face. in no way are you accountable for them, and in no way are they accountable for you, that you should turn them away, and thus be (one) of the unjust. 6:52

may Allah bless our meetings with one another, in peace and may our dealings with our brothers and sisters be for His sake. may Allah lead us to a straight way, and keep our minds and tounges from unkindness, injustice, and from presuming what we can not know.
