The Prophet’s Love For His People
Something to think about…
How would you feel if you found out that someone was thinking about you more than 1400 years ago?
A few days before he left this world, the Prophet Muhammad was heard saying…
“I wish that I had met my brothers….”
His companions, who were around him said “We are your brothers!”
He replied :
“You are my companions.
But my brothers are ….
“those who come after me, and believe in me without seeing me!”
This shows a glimpse of our Prophet’s love for us
And of course, we claim to love him as well.
But when love becomes limited to words,
it becomes meaningless.
And when the loved one’s advice is not taken seriously, it invalidates this love.
Don’t you think?
Isn’t it about time we follow our messenger?
صلى الله عليه و سلم
Isn’t it about time we reconsider our lives?
Hobbies:
The Prayer, the Prayer
These are the last words of advice that the messenger (PBH) gave to this Nation as he was close to his death were,
The prayer, the prayer. And be fearful of Allah concerning those whom your right hands posses. (Recorded by al-Bukhari)
As you notice the messenger of Allah (PBH) was just about to die and the matter he wanted to remind us about was the prayer.
This action of the Prophet (PBH) should demonstrate to us the importance of the prayer and the role that it plays in our lives.
In another statement the Prophet (PBH) said,
The first thing that the slave will be brought to account for on the Day of Judgment is prayer. If it is sound then the rest of his deeds will be sound. And if it is bad, then the rest of his deeds will be bad.
You ask yourself a question? How could the prayer be so important that the prophet (PBH) reminded us about them on his deathbed, stating that they be the first to be of judged about, and that the rest of our deeds will be accordance with the goodness of our prayer.
Well the reason of that, is because prayer helps us stay away from committing sins; prayer is where we prove our submission to Him. Through prayer, our faith grows in our hearts. Every page we read, every ayat we read surely brings us closer to our consciousness of Allah (SWT).
It makes a Muslim more aware of his faith. Therefore, every time we pray, we think of Allah as what is written in Allah’s words:
إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي وَأَقِمْ الصَّلاَةَ لِذِكْرِي
(Thaahaa: 14)
“Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance.”
Brothers and Sisters
Imagine a house without any pillars (5 pillars of Islam). It will fall like a pack of cards at the slightest shake. We must take solat as the pillar that strengthens Islam. If the religion is built without the support of solat, then sooner or later, the ummah and religion will collapse.
Brother and sisters,
One of the first things that is important, is that we should make sure that our prayer is done correctly according to the Sunnah of the prophet (PBH). As we all know, Allah (SWT) does not accept any deed unless it meets two conditions:
First, the deed must be done only for the sake of Allah (SWT), not for any other means.
Secondly, the deed must be performed in its correct manner according to the Quran and the Sunnah.
Therefore, we must turn to the Hadith of the prophet (PBH) and to the scholars who are familiar with the Sunnah to make sure we are praying in the proper manner. Many of us learned how to pray from our parents or through other means, without being certain that we are praying in the correct form, all of us must be willing to open the ahadith on how prayer should be performed if we want to be the successors in this life and in the hereafter.
Finally, one must have Kyushu; it’s like having goose bumps during prayer. Surely sometimes we pray and we don’t have khushu but we must really focus on everything we say and do while praying to have khushu.
This includes humility, submission and fear of Allah (SWT), these characteristics is extremely important.
Allah (SWT) says in surate Almuminun versus 1-2,
Successful indeed are the believers who are humble in their prayers….
You might say this is something easy to say .But how can it be achieved in practice. How many of us always have khushu in our prayer do we always pray well to have khushu and where sometimes we are in a hurry and we rush our prayer to get to our own desires either, work, studies, or for other worldly needs, we must take prayer seriously it’s not just a form of axercies. It is surly a way of getting close to Allah if performed in a slow and good manner.
The prophet has pointed out some ways that may help us achieve Khushu in prayer.
The messenger of Allah stated.
“Remember death in your prayers, if a person remembers death in his prayers, he tries his best to perfect his prayer and he prays the best prayer of a person who believes he will not pray any other prayer after it.
Allah’s messenger (S) has stated,
“Allah has obligated five prayers. Whoever excellently performs their ablutions, prays them in their proper times, completes their bows, prostration and khushu’ has promised from Allah that He will forgive him. And whoever does not do that has no promised from Allah. He may forgive him or he may punish him.” (Recorded by Malik, abu Dawud an al-Nasa’i)
Solat does not only reinforce our iman. It also builds our taqwa for Him. People of taqwa are called Muttaqin. And among the prime qualities of the Muttaqin is never missing any prayer, as explained in Al-Quran
Which means: This holy book (Al Quran) is a guide to those who guard against evil. Those who believe in the unseen and keep up prayer and spend out of what We have given them. So brothers and sister if you really have fear of Allah perform your prayers and don’t ever forget the Last words of the Prophet (S) by saying
THE PRAYER, THE PRAYER…………..
