There is no reason Salat should be performed "very slow". Neither fast or slow.
If you want to understand every word you utter, do that in the non-obligatory prayers. The Sunna's/Nafal. You can do that also after Eisha prayer, including in "Al-Shifa Wal Witar", since it would then aid you to sleep quickly.
So pray the obligatory prayers normally, not fast nor slow.

in response to niqabi mommy best not to close eyes during salah but Alims also say if it helps your concentration then its ok..its when u close your eyes during salah dream thats bad. But the sunnah is to keep eyes open.

Asalamualikum.....It happens to me on occaison, only when i really relaxed tho. Most of the time right after,i tend to slightly blackout,or get really unbalanced and dizzy, but i guess thats just because of all the blood rushing in my head during sujood and suddennly standing up. Peace

salams Like blue sajed said mke sure u get your sleep atleast 6 - 8 hours is recommended for adults...
also your post remnds me of something a sheikh mentioned in his talk he said the sahbahs when they wanted to feel peace they would engage in salah with khushu and our state nowadays is when we finish salah we find peace and relief..
i don't think theres anything wrong with feeling sleepy after salah but yawning during salah is makrooh. ANd Allah knows best.

Can't say that this ever happens to me. Unless of course I was tired to begin with. I wouldn't write this off as being good or bad. If you're sleeply that means you hadn't have enough sleep recently or there might be some cleminal imbalance in you. I recommand exercising and drinking a lot of water. And fruits.

i get tired after my salaats too. someone told me that you get tired because the prayer and the rememberance of Allah (swt) is feeding your soul and exercising your brain and your heart. sometimes i even worry that if i don't get tired after salaat that i was not as focused as i should be. reading the Qu'ran makes me sleepy too. the only thing i don't like about going to sleep after salaat is that you have to make wudu again for sleeping.....lol.

Its a relaxing thing to pray your daily salah, sometimes it does makes me sleepy as well and sometimes i close my eyes when i pray my salah, i know you prob experience that yourself but it would be bad if you sleep during your salah, lol just wait after wards. Ameen!!

It could be the Shaitan. Stay strong and focus. Sit after prayer and do some Zikr.

It makes me do the same thing. But my eyes start to water too, everytime I get sleepy.
