haram or not

 ok so i figured i would get a topic going on this subject about having a dog picture on ya page we debated alittle bit in the shout box about it so i was wondering wat others thought about it some say its haram because of wat the verse says in the quran an others say it not wat do u think

Brother, if you seek opinions, on many subjects you can find one that says one thing and another opinion that says the opposite.  I suggest you focus on the fundamentals: understand the deep implications of the shahadah; do your salat; give charity; fast in Ramadhan; go for Hajj if you can. After these, the most important expression of faith is to do good deeds (be helpful, conciliatory, generous, gentle, kind, respectful, etc.)

 

Your fundamental choice is to be motivated by fear of punishment for violating "rules", or to be motivated by love of allah and his prophets and messengers, peace be upon them.

What verse are you referring to? 

 

Some have pictures of other animals or insects on their pages... would these other creatures be included in the discussion or is the issue only dogs?
