Warning, this video is disturbing, and while it is intended to shock more than provide a reasoned argument, it nonetheless demonstrates where SOME of the meat we migth be consuming is coming from:

It is not only the cruelty inflicted on the animals but health concerns when we eat meat from animals that are injected with all kinds of hormones. I definitely agree that we should knw where our food is coming from.

Actually, The first time I read your blog, I didnt notice the video link, that video is alot better and more informative then the one I posted.
I would disagree that it is impossible to raise your own animals in this modern age however,
Maybe not every single one of us, but the question is are we willing to sacrifice some of the modern amenties, live in more equitable communities and be self-reliant like we should as Muslims? If not then, you are right it is impossible, but if we stop being in love with having ipods or big screen tvs and instead focus our energy towards taking control of our own food and commmutnies working together etc, then it is very possible.
