Another Day
A'Salaamu 'aleikom once again Gentle Reader.
Today I was asked, "How come your Blog is just about day to day life, and not about Islam?"
I thought for a moment before I answered. I told them that for me to only write about Islam, on an Islamic site, is akin to preaching to the converted. I just try to present a different picture, to paint a human face to all of this.
Anyway, all that being said, my day was a little busy, as usual. Number one son slept in, so I gave up trying to wake him and gave him a day off school. Not for me though, I went to College as usual.
After College, I had to wait for my IT company to pick up a computer for repair. I suppose I could have done it myself, but being covered by warranty, I did not do anything in case the warranty was voided. (That is why I useing a friends unit for this). My other units are all undergoing re-formats which means I can't use them at the moment.
Around 4:30pm the Mother of one of my drop in kids came around, to thank me for careing for her Daughter and protecting her. I just told her that as long as they were now reconciled, that is all the thanks I needed.
I wsent back to College tonight for my Muslim Students. Quite an interesting group. There is obviously some difficulties with comunication, but as each day passes, their grasp of English increases.
There are one or two non muslim people I teach as well, and they are also good students. Theybdo have an advantage in that they already have a firm grasp of the Roman Alphabet, as well as being of European background.
Two of my fellow Tutors have expressed interest in my being Muslim, asking questions about Islam and about cultural matters such as Manners etc. I explain what I can, and the things that I don't know? I ask someone else or find it in the Qur'an. Whether or not they accept Islam, is in the hands of Allah subhana wa ta'ala, But I aplaud them for wanting to understand the Faith and beliefs of their students.
Anyway, to continue, when I got home I was surprised to see the house had been totaly cleaned, flors mopped, washing up done, everything. Okay I must confess to being a bit messy over the last couple of weeks, but I was a bit down in spirit.
It turned out that the Mother who had visited earlier in the day, had come back when I left for college, with her daughter and another girl I had helped, and cleaned the place for me. They had waited for me to come home, then came back again with a hot meal for me and my son. I must admit that I felt a little emotional, that they would do this for us, but all I could say was Thank You, otherwise, I was quite speechless.
I think I had better go to bed, it is now 12:30 am and I can't seem to keep my eyes open.
So until I return, I will leave you with my prayers that Allah subhana wa ta'ala, grant you a happy life.
W'Salaam Gentle Reader.
