“And this is My Straight Path, so follow it and do not follow other paths that will separate you from His Path. This has He ordained for you that you may become pious.” [Sooratul-An’aam 6:153]................. Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah said: "So if your conscious tells you to seek ikhlaas, then turn to greed firstly, and slaughter it with the knife of despair, then turn to the love of being praised and abandon it like how those who adore the life of this world abandon the hereafter. If you are successful in slaughtering greed and in abandoning the love of being praised, then ikhlaas will be easy for you.............. The Messenger of Allah(sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) said: "A faithful believer to a faithful believer is like the bricks of a wall enforcing each other" While saying that, the Prophet(sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam)clasped his hands by interlacing his fingers. (Saheeh al-Bukhaaree-The Book of the Masaajid;Saheeh Muslim-The Book of Kindness and Family Ties.).............. The Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) said: ((All of the children of Aadam make mistakes, and the best of them are those who repent)).................. Ibn Hazam al-Andalusee (rahima-hullaah) mentions: ((Anyone who spends his time studying something inferior, abandoning higher studies of which he is capable, is like someone who sows corn in a field capable of growing wheat, or who plants bushes in a soil which could support palm trees and olives)) al-Akhlaaq was-Siyar - Ibn Hazam al-Andalusee................ Yahyaa ibn Ma'een said: ((If I saw a man leaving his home without an inkwell or pen to seek (knowledge of) hadeeth, (then) this would affirm his deceit.)) Siyar A’laam an-Nubalaa. – Volume 16, Page 181................ Abu Moosaa ibn al-Haafiz said upon his death: ((Do not waste this knowledge (over) which we have tired (laboured))) Siyar A’laam an-Nubalaa. – Volume 21, Page 450................. Alee ibn Khashram said: ((I have never seen Wakee' with a book in his hands, rather, he has everything memorised. So I asked him about the remedy for memorising, and he said: "If I told you the remedy, will you use it?" I said: "By Allaah indeed." He said: "Leaving sins, for I have not experienced anything like it for memorising.")) Siyar A'laam an-Nubalaa. - Volume 9, Page 151.................. Imaam ash-Shaafi'ee(rahima-hullaahu Ta'alaa) was quoted saying: "I complained to Wakee' about my poor memory; So he advised me to abandon sins And he said:"Know that knowledge is light,And the Light of Allah is not bestowed upon the sinner."
